The Lawyer has published a deep-dive on the revenues of the UK's Top 100 law firms over the last decade - and Knights ranks top for revenue growth.
Since 2014 Knights' revenue has grown from £12.4 million to £150 million, fuelled by acquisitions, organic growth and the strength of the business's growing reputation.
The collective revenue of the UK Top 100 rose by 94.2% in the decade to 2024. Over the same period Knights' revenue increased by 1,114% - 10 times more than the average.

“Since 2014, the most improved firm in the UK Top 100 rankings is none other than Knights. As the most acquisitive firm in recent years, Knights has climbed an impressive 111 places, moving from its original rank of 115 in 2014 to break into the top 50, and now sits at 42. The firm’s rapid expansion has driven substantial revenue growth — soaring by 1,113 per cent over the past decade, to turn it from a £12.4m practice into a £150m national player.

Over this period, Knights completed 25 acquisitions, 20 of which took place after its listing in 2018. These acquisitions have significantly contributed to revenue growth, which has risen 185 per cent since 2019. In recent years, the firm’s focus has shifted to integration and consolidation, and it made three acquisitions in 2023: Meade King; Baines Wilson; and St James’ Square. Knights has also strengthened its presence in the West Midlands with the £12.5m acquisition of Thursfields, a full-service firm, in July 2024. Looking ahead, Knights aims to build on this momentum, targeting £300m in revenue within four years.
The firm’s headcount has also had remarkable growth. Since 2014, the number of lawyers has increased by 887 per cent, from 77 to 760. Similarly, the number of partners has grown from 37 to 280, or by 657 per cent.”
