Knights' Corporate team has supported Hymor Timber on its sale to National Timber Group (NTG).
Hymor, established in 1990, is an independent timber merchant supplying ethically sourced hardwood and softwood to a range of trade and commercial customers, including joiners and manufacturers across Staffordshire and the surrounding area. The Stoke-on-Trent-based company employs 28 staff and in 2020 achieved revenues of £4.5m.
The acquired business is set to fill a geographic gap in NTG's existing branch network and create an additional hardwood centre of excellence, serving the Midlands and the North West.
Knights provided a multi-disciplinary team to support Hymor, with colleagues from Corporate, Commercial, Employment, Health & Safety, Real Estate and Tax supporting the transaction.
Hayley Goodwin, Partner at Knights said: "Succession planning was a key focus for our client in this transaction, with their impending retirement driving the decision to sell the business. In NTG, Hymor has found a partner with a shared vision about product quality and customer experience. This was a particularly enjoyable transaction for the Knights' team as we worked so closely with Benchmark International; a decisive and dynamic partner in this process. We wish Hymor's founders every success, knowing that their business has found a great partner in NTG."
