Sonia is a Partner in the Restructuring and Insolvency team.
With 30 years experience advising on corporate restructuring and recovery, Sonia has developed a transactional and contentious practice and has led high-profile administrations. She has broad insolvency industry reach, spanning restructuring and advisory engagements, transactional insolvency projects, and forensic asset recoveries.
Sonia regularly acts for private equity and debt investors seeking to acquire, restructure, or sell businesses, both within and outside formal insolvency processes. She also advises Insolvency Practitioners on business and asset sales, Company Voluntary Arrangements, and all contentious aspects of formal insolvencies, particularly asset tracing and recovery actions.
She provides independent advice to directors of distressed companies on their duties, corporate sales, restructuring, informal credit arrangements, and continues to advise on personal insolvency matters.
Sonia is an active member of key organisations within the profession, including serving on the board of the Turnaround Management Association (UK) and the National Council of R3, the UK restructuring and insolvency trade association, where she is also part of the Executive Committee.
