Louise is a Lawyer (South African Qualified) in the Planning team.
Louise regularly acts for both major and smaller housebuilders, both in London and the wider UK. She advises on non-contentious planning matters, including planning obligations, infrastructure agreements, highways related agreements as well as carrying out due diligence on behalf of lenders or those purchasing properties and land to determine whether the necessary planning permissions are in place before such transactions are completed.
Recent examples of where Louise has supported clients include:
- Acting for a range of national residential developers on infrastructure agreements including highways and drainage agreements;
- Negotiating and agreeing a planning obligation with Croydon Borough Council to secure planning permission for a developer;
- Acting for a range of residential developers to secure planning obligations including on appeal for nationwide sites;
- Negotiating and agreeing a planning obligation on behalf of a developer which involved the relocation of reptiles to an off-site mitigation area;
- Assisting with securing a complex planning obligation for over 4,000 dwellings acting for a local authority and involving two major housebuilders; and
- Carrying out urgent due diligence on the planning history of a high value residential property to ensure that all necessary planning permissions were in place prior to the client purchasing the property.
