Jane is a Senior Associate in the Tax & Trusts and Wills & Estates teams.
She is a specialist in Court of Protection matters including applications for the appointment of Deputies for both Property and Financial Affairs and Health and Welfare, applications for the appointment of new trustees, seeking permission to execute statutory wills and requesting specific authorities such as the purchase or sale of a property and making gifts.
Jane supports on the management of clients’ property and financial affairs under either Enduring Powers of Attorney or Lasting Powers of Attorney and the management of trusts (including personal injury trusts).
She also supports on the preparation of Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney and the creation of trusts.
Jane acts for elderly clients, vulnerable individuals and their families, clients who lack the mental capacity to make decisions in relation to their property and financial affairs including where they have sustained a traumatic brain injury and also for trustees where the trust has been created for the benefit of vulnerable beneficiaries.
Recent examples of how Jane has supported clients include:
- managing the property and financial affairs of a client under a Deputyship where assets were held both within and outside of the UK;
- making an urgent application to the Court of Protection for permission to execute a statutory will in circumstances where divorce proceedings were ongoing but not completed;
- managing the property and financial affairs of a number of young adults who have sustained traumatic brain injuries.
