James is an Associate in the Housing and Regeneration team.
James undertakes development work for registered housing providers and developers. His work includes site acquisitions and disposals for residential development by way of conditional turnkey contracts, golden brick agreements, option agreements and building leases. James also has experience acting for registered housing providers in the acquisition of Section 106 affordable housing units from developers including negotiating the Development Agreement and advising on the suitability of the affordable housing provisions in Section 106 Agreements.
James also advises on charging and refinancing projects of Registered Provider’s housing stock as well as infrastructure agreements including Section 38, 278 and 104 Agreements.
Recent examples of how James has supported clients include:
- Acquisition of a site in four phases by way of Golden Brick Agreement for the construction of 106 affordable housing units with a GDV of £17.5m.
- Acquisition of a site in a back to back deal for a Registered Provider by way of a conditional contract and land and build package for the construction of 76 affordable housing units with a GDV of £17m.
- Acting for a Registered Provider carrying out all property due diligence including satisfying all funder requirements on a large scale refinancing project of their housing stock.
