Jacqueline Almond is a Partner in the Private Client team.
Jacqueline specialises in a range of areas, including the Court of Protection, Lasting Powers of Attorney, estate planning (wills, trusts, and lifetime gifts), probate and estate administration, and tax planning. She works closely with clients, particularly those affected by acquired brain injuries, and often collaborates with the Personal Injury team. Jacqueline also acts as a litigation friend for individuals with impaired mental capacity and advises on the creation of personal injury trusts.
She holds numerous appointments as deputy, attorney, trustee, and executor, and has been appointed by the court as an independent administrator in estates where disputes have arisen, enabling the successful completion of the estate administration.
Jacqueline has a particular focus on estate planning involving overseas assets, domicile issues, and complex estates, including those with business or farm assets. She also advises on provisions for vulnerable beneficiaries through trusts. Jacqueline's appointment to the new Office of the Public Guardian panel of professional deputies further highlights her expertise in this area.
She is a regular speaker on topics such as planning for vulnerable beneficiaries, lasting powers of attorney, and tax planning, delivering training to organisations such as Mencap, Carers Bucks, and Admiral Nurses, as well as to other professionals, including solicitors.
