Brady is a solicitor in the Commercial, Franchising and Intellectual Property teams.
Brady advises on, drafts and negotiates all types of commercial agreements for a wide range of businesses including standard terms and conditions, confidentiality agreements, licensing of intellectual property agreements, supply and distribution agreements, and commercial events agreements.
Brady also advises on and drafts pilot franchise documentation, including franchise agreements and all ancillary documentation. In addition to this, Brady advises on key legal updates required to franchise agreements and updates required for ethical compliance with the British Franchise Association’s code of ethics, preparing and advising on documentation associated with managed exits and franchisee default.
As a member of our Intellectual Property team, Brady supports clients in preparing intellectual property audit reports, trademark specification advice and in attending to registration, renewal and monitoring of trade marks at the UK Intellectual Property Office and in connection with our network of agents with international trade mark applications.
Recent examples of how Brady has supported clients include:
- Advising on and drafting a pilot franchise agreement and ancillary documentation for a local client in readiness for its franchise launch;
- Preparing and advising a venue hire agreement for a local client who had agreed to hire its land to an events management company for a 3-week event;
- Auditing a client’s branding to advise on trade mark registrability and specification;
- Providing day-to-day support for the in-house legal team at a major international aviation engineering company; and
- Advising on franchisee issues and exits.
